Many people smoke cigarette on a different purpose or occasion. Some newly smokers smoke because of peer pressure to gain friends or a social standing in the society. While others smoke because they think that smoking is cool and give them the confidence they need.

There are several other reasons why cigarette smoking is becoming prevalent in the society today. Whatever their reason is, people should try to get a grip and start to realize that smoking cannot help them at any means. It can only result to shame and guilt at the long run.

If you’re among the people who are enlightened and received a wake up call, below are some tips and self-help programs that you can consider to help you combat your cigarette cravings and live a healthy, longer and nicotine-free life.

Use positive affirmations.
A statement is not merely a compilation or group of words that creates a thought or meaning. If you dug deep and understand a statement, you realize that there’s so much from it than words. Using positive statements or positive self affirmations empowers you to target your goals.

Saying statements like “I quit smoking.”, “I want to have a pair of healthy lungs.” or “I choose to live a healthier lifestyle.” can really make a difference!

Stating these affirmations on daily basis will enable your subconscious mind to grab the thought and eventually, this actions and statements will manifest and put into actions. You’ll soon experience that everything you’ve planned is turning out smoothly.

If your cigarette craving starts rushing in, you can combat this massive craving by restating these statements to give you the confidence to overcome temptation.

Emotional Freedom Techniques
EFT or known as emotional freedom techniques is a form of energy tapping that can help release tension, stress and your limiting beliefs.

Most likely, the root cause of your smoking habit came from stress and anxiety. EFT targets to turn these negative energies into positive ones by tapping through the meridian points.

Accompanied by empowering statements and positive thoughts while tapping, you can overcome and clear away tensions, stress and anxiety that may cause you the light a cigarette.

Self Hypnosis
Smoking is highly a habitual habit and in order to modify and change it, you need to coordinate with your subconscious mind. Self hypnosis is designed to help people get rid of negative beliefs and unwanted habits and root them out from their system.

Applying self hypnosis on a daily basis can greatly help you throw away your cigarette cravings and opt for a healthier and cleaner lifestyle. You can now finally say goodbye to your nicotine fixation through the help of self hypnosis accompanied by a powerful autosuggestion that will bring your mind and body to quit smoking.

Reading

It may not be the prominent hobby or the favorite pastimes for many people, but some people find reading as the best way of forgetting their feelings of regret. Therefore, you do not have to be a book lover to use this method but it will be more efficient if you happen to love reading a lot. First, it is important to find a reading material that catches your interest well enough. It will be even better if it is something that can arouse your senses and somewhat makes you happy.

It can be a fiction, non-fiction, motivational or even comics. If all these criteria are fixed in, you will probably find yourself too absorb with the book of what seems like you are being transported to another realm (of the book). You would not even have the time to think of any regrets no more! Another word; do not read anything close to what had caused you your feelings of regret. It will just make things worse.

Exercising

You name it; exercise is good for many things! It is for your health, it can help you reduce your stress level and you will be even more surprised to know that exercising can help you forget your regrets. However, it is advisable that you play sports in groups or with friends accompanying you. It will make your exercise scheme much more enjoyable and fun. There you go killing two birds with one throw: a body that stays fit, and a mind with no more regrets.

Listen to Music and Start Dancing

Find music that keep you on the vibe, and a mind filled with lively thoughts to get over those feelings of regrets that you have. Combining the power of music and exercising, you will find yourself too occupied to think of your regrets. It will be even better if you love music and dances. Try looking for songs with moderate to fast tempo because slow songs can bring back memories – bad news!

Watch a Movie

Personally, this is one of my favorite methods, since I am a movie freak. If you happen to be one too, you will find watching movies can let those regrets slip off your thoughts. Been there and done so, and it definitely works. This is because when you are watching a movie, you will somehow be in a different mindset. You will think of the plots of the movies, remembering the characters and assessing the flow, therefore, no room to think of anything else. Watching movies require great attention. Even if you might find yourself astray sometimes during the movie, then you would have to force yourself to be back on track. Self-control is always the key. It is another sign that the movie you are watching bored yourself out, so change that DVD!

Write a Diary

Do you feel like getting it all off the chest? Perhaps writing a diary is the best way. What Jones did was to dot everything that she felt (and I meant everything) on the sheets, and that had given her ways to survive through her days. Sometimes, a person may find it difficult to talk to others about their problems and regrets, so the best way for them to let it go is by mere writing. It will help you to reduce the feelings of regret and guilt. The only risk is that you might get someone reading your diary in secret if you do not keep it in the safest place.

The most important person that you will ever talk with is you. What you tell yourself repeatedly will seep into your subconscious and affect your life! Saying something with certainty or powerful emotion will equally affect you. Consequently, it is essential that you pay close attention to what you tell yourself.

We knew of a person that constantly utilized the word hate while expressing her thoughts to others. This woman would say things to others, using the word, “hate,” flippantly. Each time she used this word the bitterness of its use stung, closing up her heart. Although she expressed herself to another, she at the same time told herself these things. In fact, she would merely voice thoughts that she had already impressed upon her subconscious. Whatever we place on the inside comes out.

Science has deduced that we have anywhere from 60,000 to 90,000 thoughts per day. We breathe approximately 24,000 times a day. Now that is numerous thoughts per breath! We can merely think one thought at a time; with each breath, we have a lot of activity going on within our minds every minute of every day. Many of these thoughts are simple, useful, and necessary. However, when we experience an inner conflict, we increase our massive thought process, which can affect our peace.

We all want to be happy and lead stress free lives. A certain amount of stress is healthy, like physical exercise; mental and emotional stress is unhealthy. This type of stress is a result of our negative thinking and imaging, resulting in negative inner dialogue. Every moment that we look at or ruminate about what we “don’t want”, we produce negative energy. That energy then pulls more like energy toward us. This energy will increase, the accompanied feelings, as our negative thinking increases.

To experience success, feeling good is necessary; we must feel good if we want to have the first rate things that life has to offer. It is impossible to feel like doing nothing while thinking about what you desire! When you conceive of what you want, you get excited, and you feel excellent. Positive change energizes the mind and body. Therefore, when you concentrate on things you want to have, or what you want to accomplish, you experience joy. Joyful feelings attract more joyous thoughts and so forth (like attracts like).

How Do You Say andldquo; I Love Youandrdquo;? Why is it so hard to say those three magical words ,(I Love You)?
With all the lines of communication it seems that engaging in any other topic such as hate talk; joy talk; peace and pain talk are easily . Let the topic of saying I Love You come into the picture and a different tune begins to play. Why is this?

Even as a child , you were often told I Love You by your parents. When you got hurt mama would kiss you and say , andldquo;I Love Youandrdquo; and that boo-boo would feel so much better. You were always advised to talk about the joy , fears and hurts in your life. To this very day it is still very difficult to say this positive statement. andldquo;I Love You.andrdquo; Everyone that is human has a degree of language . You may be confused about how you learned it . As a baby you learned a language , not taught by your parents. You had to take steps in learning this. First , you babbled; then you began to say words; and lastly you put the words together and made a sentence. All this was done on your own as a child. Children are fast at catching on to words and the proper way to use them. Why is it so hard for adults?

As an adult , you either hear the language of love or you donandrsquo;t. Sometimes when you are awaken from a dream, and it was one where lovers looked into each others eyes, a simple harmony falls over you and you experience the urge to tell your partner you love them. Wouldnandrsquo;t it be wonderful to have such an open line of communication all the time? It would be very nourishing and rewarding in a healthy relationship.

Once you have an open line of communication, have you thought of how you will keep it open? It is very true that communication is more than what you allow your ears to hear. Words are wonderful, and shouldnandrsquo;t be taken likely. Words of love stand for things. Love is an affection shown toward another. It may be towards a parent, child, or lover. For each word that a human speaks , there is an emotion attached to it.
Often you may find yourself being talked too, by a smile or even a handshake. Hugs and laughter are other forms of communication. Some of these gestures may speak louder than the actual words. You can tell a great deal about a person with just a simple handshake. A hug has been known to send off mixed signals . A glance can suggest a variety of things. Still, people donandrsquo;t respect the power of wordless messages.

Maybe the message of andldquo;I Love Youandrdquo; was given by one of the above gestures. Some people find it very hard to voice these three simple words.
It is essential that humans know how to communicate when they are using certain words. People need to control their words. With each word comes a definition and feeling. This is only when one can take control of their lives. The words people use in a real sense can determine the action and belief of others. Use these words generously rather than be narrowed by them. Misunderstanding begins to cause problems in a relationship when words arenandrsquo;t used properly.
Unless you like talking to yourself , take some advice and remember it takes two to carry on a conversation. This truly means that if your partner is speaking , you better be listening. The majority of the time , by the time someone has said what they wanted to say the other party has forgot half of it. They are only prepared to hear what they want too. So the next time you want to say andldquo;I Love Youandrdquo; make sure you are using the proper words or let the wordless message be shown by the gestures you have waited so long to express.

Nobody ever says they have too much time. People may get bored sometimes but the clock is ticking and life is ebbing away constantly. We can only do a few of the things we need to do each day so an understanding of time management and how to make the most of our time is a very useful ability. Few of us have more time than we have things to do. Some tasks we have to put off till tomorrow or another time but some tasks are time critical and have to be done today. Students live in a time critical world. Papers have to be done on time and incomplete work or work handed in late is never going to endear you to those who matter.

All students need to learn about time management. It is an essential skill which enables you to set up a proper schedule for planned working which enables you to complete and deliver work on time and to a decent standard. Without the planning your work is likely to be incomplete and never quite finished. By scheduling your work and having a plan of action you will be able to complete each part of a piece of work and be ready to move on to the next. This way you avoid a mad panic at the last minute as you struggle to catch up with all the work you meant to do a week or two before all the while knowing there is more work to be done. A proper plan enables you to finish on time and relax knowing you have given it your best shot.

Student time management is all about planning your work schedule to ensure you have allowed enough time for each task or project to enable you to complete all your tasks in the time available. There is some leeway in this, of course, but avoid the temptation to keep improving one task at the expense of another.
It is important that you plan properly and schedule your work. A vague plan will not be as effective or helpful. Proper planning will aloow leeway so that if one part of your work takes longer than expected you can adapt the plan and get back on schedule to complete the work by the deadline.

1. Throw those negative thoughts far, far away. Be positive!

Negative thoughts would not get you anywhere most of the time. It only builds up walls and hindrances to advances. Metaphorically, it is like poisonous thorns laying on the road to success. As an act of precaution, first identify all the negative thoughts that may have already existed and yet to exist in your mind. Once you have done this, throw it far, far away. Fight, defeat and throw them again if it keeps on coming back to you. A strong and promising future and a strong body all start from a strong mind. If you want to be a winner, you should start thinking like one.

2. Overcome your fear

One of the biggest elements of negative thoughts is fear. There’s so many types of fear: fear of failure, fear of criticism or even fear of people. Therefore, you should be wise to counter attack whatever fears you have and never let them have a single chance to strike down your defenses and invade the inner core of your mind. There is an old saying that the worst enemy of humankind is the person itself and that would include your own desires and fears.

3. Be inspired and motivated

Inspiration builds on motivation. It navigates the journey to success. There is no particular rule that can be set as a hindrance for you to determine what your source of inspiration is from. Get a icon or a ‘role model’, but remember, nobody in this world is perfect. So don’t try to be one since being successful has very little to do with scoring perfectly each time.

4. Self empowerment through knowledge and skills

Regardless of whatever field you may be, knowledge and skills are the true face of power, which is a grave need if you’re thinking of making a success. Never hesitate to learn more everyday. There should be no reasons for you to be ashamed of not knowing something and had to ask someone’s help for it. So many things happen as the world change, you had no choice but to move on with the dynamic nature, and continuous learning definitely can help you to keep up with these changes. Don’t be afraid to explore new things and ideas, as long as it does not go against ethical reasoning and your own beliefs and ideology.

5. Strong-willed and courageous

Nope, it’s not easy to be successful. There will be a few trials if not many. Not many of us are born with greatness or have greatness thrust upon them. Be courageous and keep those flaring desire for success alive. Train yourself to be a strong-willed person that never bows to hardship, negative influences and trials. However, remember to keep your rationales intact too.

6. Stop postponing your life

Postponing everything that you do in life is never a good habit, even the little things in life. Time is precious, thus don’t waste it. If you have failed before, or things didn’t exactly turns out to be the way you wanted it to be, avoid yourself from being careless and apathetic. Wasting time because you’re feeling a little too emotional about something is definitely not a good reason at all.

7. Plan and schedule

Many people have the tendency to neglect this point. By right, proper planning is crucial to ensure the things are actually being carried out and to measure the smoothness of tasks. First, make a plan and then the schedule of importance of the tasks. Be discipline and follow the plan as closely as possible. Other than making things work, you’ll feel more organized and less stressful.

8. Self evaluation

Perhaps only 1 out of 1000 people in this world actually do self-evaluation. More often than not people are more prone to evaluate other people than themselves. However, self-evaluation is a process that needs more than the person himself to do. It requires people around him. It is difficult to know what other people think about you but try to be rational, calm and strong to face criticism, because the result is actually the exact stimulant that can improvise a person in and out. From that evaluation, identify your weaknesses and strength. Rectify what should be rectified and use whatever extras you have in order to gain success.

9. Perseverance and honesty

These two elements are in a constant alignment to success. It is the main key to achieve success. When you are doing something with much honesty and sincerity, you will find it much easier to climb the stairs to glory, and there’ll be less complaints too. Nothing will be fruitful from a halfway effort. So keep that perseverance at the optimum level at all time.

10. Don’t be afraid of failure

Giving up means you’ve already lost the game. Giving up before the game even started is even worse than losing. Perhaps this kind of people can never even smell the aroma of success, let alone touch it. So, don’t give up if you haven’t try it before or just because you’ve failed once. Keep your chin up and try again.

People get busted all the time. It is pretty normal stuff. Secrets revealed often times damage a relationships, reputations, marriages as such, and there are also cases that it can be all three. Let’s just face it, the world isn’t as simple as we wish it would be. There are few things that we just simply cannot talk about. There could definitely be more to this list though.

Scandals

Don’t ever assume it as a simple thing, something that you can forget it over the next meal, even if it is a one night stand. Things can get worse at times. Some people get themselves involved in an affair just for the sake of the fun. But beware when it gets rough, especially when you’ve fallen hard, in love, then it’ll be a major problem for you. In other words, you are digging your own grave. People who engaged in this kind of infidelity are usually very lonely and feeling neglected, couldn’t commit to a monogamous relationship or simply, they’ve fallen out of love with their current partner. There are better ways to solve a problem, and a scandal isn’t one of them. Moreover, you’ll definitely be downright burdened with scandals as your secrets – alas, emotionally. If not, you’re probably being very insensitive or simply a total jerk.
Talking about your exes

Recalling and blabbing to your current partner about your past loves is an absolute no- no. The last thing that your girlfriend or boyfriend wants to hear from you is about your ex, whether it be good or bad stuff. Just talking about them indicates that you just can’t get over him or her. So ease up on the stories, or better yet keep it to yourself unless you’re being asked. And even if you are being interrogated, you don’t have to talk about everything about him or her.
Still living with your parents

It is perhaps okay with women, but not men. Woman may at times find men who lived with their parents a little too dependent, especially when they’re way beyond the age to move out and find they’re own nest. Nonetheless, there are also men who lived with his parents and still are very independent. There are usually the rational as to why a man rather lives with his parents than enjoy the total freedom that life can offer. Well, it’s not that you should never tell your partner about your current household status, rather keeping it to yourself for a while and tell it later to see your partner’s reaction. You can determine it from there if she understands or not, especially if you’re with a very good and strong reason to be living with your parents.
You like her or his friend

Nope, it’s not impossible for this to happen, although it is merely an infatuation or lust. It’s something that’s rather untouchable. You see it, but can never touch because you know it’ll hurt you or others around you one way or the other. Just imagine if your feelings are answered right back. Yes, it is sweet. Love is sweet but yet can be melancholic and chaotic at times. And getting in an affair with your partner’s best friend is unquestionably spells nothing but bad news. So, keep it down and keep it a secret until it all go away. And if it doesn’t, that only means it’s your cue call to call the current relationship off.

So there, I’ve said it. Some secret just have to remain as they are – secrets, and if you’re seriously thinking of living in a world that’s at least far from chaos, you’ll probably give a serious thought on keeping your secrets safe, and sound

Life is definitely better together than alone. But sometimes many things gets in the way and so many ideologies, thoughts, events and other external factors may influence an individual – resulting to separation and divorces. What’s the limit to compatibility? That’s for you to decide, though. But many simple couple’s arguments that usually involve trivial matters can be overcome. Try some of the steps below in order to protect your relationship.

Identify the issue

Express what have been bothering you with the best possible way. You should make sure that the things that you’re not particularly satisfied with is conveyed calmly, in order and peacefully.

Feel your feelings

Try to communicate with yourself more honestly and sincerely. Ask yourself what you really want, what you hope for and how you want things to be.

Taking care

Tell yourself a few times that you care about what’s going on between the two of you, and whatever things involving both of you. You should already know by now that life as a couple has a lot of test that you would have to overcome. Maybe you can take it this way – it’s a test on whether you actually belong to one another and was really love indeed?

Don’t go around sabotaging yourself

Throw away those negative thoughts far, far away. And this is especially during an argument between the two of you. Being pessimistic about things can only make things worse most of the times.

Changing the way of thinking

Talk and tell yourself that you are actually able to cope and understand all kinds of problems and issues. Plus, all these things can actually be interpreted through various different ways. If not, you’ll probably be burdened by those problems and issues and it will lead to none other than stress and a constant strain in your relationship. Perhaps you should begin with lowering your ego level, even just a little bit.

Bear the responsibility

Unless you’re on off-attachment kind of relationship, all other kind of serious relationship should have responsibility as the main focus. You can ask yourself, what went wrong? Did you abandon a part or some parts of the things on your responsibility list as a partner? There’s no harm in assessing yourself quietly.

Learn to be more attentive

Respect one another and learn to listen. The whole point of being together is to be together and share things; even it ends with no remarks or solution. Most of the time, each individual just wanted their thoughts to be heard. And you should never assume you’re partner is the same as you. All people perceive things differently so if you want to critic, be constructive.

Loving someone is easy, but at the same thing not a simple thing. There is a lot of compromising, sacrificing, trusting and deliberating your thoughts. It should also be a life learning process – the process to love someone as they are but at the same time, motivating each other to be a better person.

The term “meditation” brings to one’s mind of the contemplative Buddha, sitting cross-legged underneath a lotus tree, and eventually reaching enlightenment. As strange as it may sound, meditation has been practiced as early as 5000 years ago not just as a means to achieve self-improvement, but also as a means to relax and relieve oneself of stress. While it seems odd to imagine Buddha ever being stressed, truth is quite often, stranger than fiction.

Before you can get started on the path towards self-realization, it is also important to know two things. The first is that meditation is not an easy thing to master, especially as a beginner. It is decidedly hard to keep your concentration to yourself rather than on the noises around. Once you have gotten the hang of meditation however – and all that is required to achieve this is dedication and enough time and practice – relaxation and a sense of inner peace is bound to follow.

The second is that, contrary to popular belief, there can be some adverse effects towards meditation when not practiced right. Some severe chronic physical and mental disorders may arise from too contemplative a meditation, and it is necessary to be psychologically prepared before attempting to do so. At the very least, an experienced teacher and mentor to guide you along for the first few attempts would be the ideal option. In essence, there is no real right or wrong way to meditate; the end goal of most meditations are simply to achieve a state of better self-awareness, and to understand oneself better on a more emotional level.

There are roughly three basic stages that are a necessary part of meditation. Self-regulation is the first step, and deals with our personal comfort first before progressing deeper. Self-regulation uses relaxation and breathing techniques to calm the mind and lessen stress. This aids the practitioner in promoting good physical health and well-being, by lessening the causes for anxiety.

The next step involves self-discovery. Now that we have assuaged our physical comfort, we are now able to direct our minds inwards for mental concentration techniques to help strengthen the mind and achieve good mental balance. Much of this stage involves concentrating the mind without thinking of anything in particular, or conversely, to focus our concentration on one particular object, heedless of our environment. This is a good exercise to allow emotions to flow freely without being held back.

The last stage is self-transcendence. Now that our physical and mental states have been strengthened, it is now only natural to seek a higher conscious and delve into many of the deeper meanings in life.

Sleeping disorders can affect a person of any age. Millions of people have trouble sleeping. A sleeping disorder is when a person’s sleep is disrupted for any reason. A disorder of this kind can have a lot of adverse effects on a person’s health and mental well being.
One common sleeping disorder is insomnia. When a person has insomnia he or she is either unable to go to sleep at night or wakes up often during the night unable to fall back to sleep. A person with insomnia also sleeps lightly. When a person has insomnia he or she does not feel rested the next day and suffers from lack of energy. Health conditions, caffeine intake during the day, stress and certain medications can cause insomnia.

A very common sleeping disorder that is out of a person’s control is sleep apnea. A person with sleep apnea will stop breathing temporarily in the night because of upper airway blockage. A person with sleep apnea will feel tired the next day because he will wake up often during the night but is unaware of the sleep disturbances. Sleep apnea is serious and can threaten a person’s life.
It is important to seek medical attention if sleep apnea is a possibility. There are a lot of symptoms that a loved one can watch for to see if a person suffers from this condition. Pauses in breathing while sleeping, loud snoring, gasping for air while sleeping, and choking while sleeping are signs that a loved one can watch for. A person who wakes up frequently with chest pains, headaches, and shortness of breath and has a dry throat should get checked out for sleep apnea. It can leave a person exhausted but it can also cause weight gain, high blood pressure and even a stroke.
There are different types of sleep apnea. One is obstructive sleep apnea which is caused by the soft tissue that is in the back of the throat relaxing during sleep which causes the airway to be blocked resulting in snoring. A more uncommon form is central apnea where the brain does not send a signal to the breathing muscles to tell a person to breathe. With this form of apnea a person does not snore. A combination of both central apnea and obstructive apnea is called complex sleep apnea. Losing weight, limiting caffeine and setting regular sleep hours are some ways to help control this condition. If these don’t work there are medical devices that will help with the disorder.
Sleeping disorders do not just happen at night. One daytime sleeping disorder is narcolepsy. A person with this disorder will all of a sudden feel sleepy during the day while working, driving and even talking. Symptoms include feeling weak while experiencing emotions, inability to move while dozing off or waking up, and intense dreams or dreaming immediately after going to sleep.
